After describing the offense as being in a “flux” following the third preseason game, Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress told the media he was contemplating on whether or not to play the starters in the fourth and final preseason game.
The decision has been made.
Key starters are expected to sit and watch from the bench for the preseason finale on Thursday against the Denver Broncos, according to a source close to the team.
Receivers Greg Camarillo and Javon Walker are expected to suit up as they are still trying to get some work in while learning the offense. Camarillo has a chance at cracking the team’s first-team offense when the regular season starts.
The Vikings appear to be taking the safe route by not playing key starters. The team will have to fix their offense in the team practices leading up to the season opener.
