The Minnesota Vikings have a lock for the starting running back position in Adrian Peterson, but the roles behind Peterson is big question mark.
According to Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune, running back Albert Young is having a great training camp and is in position to be second on the depth chart.
Zulgad believes Young could see some time in a role similar to what running back Chester Taylor had last year as a third-down back, but believes Young or any other back “will be given the exact responsibilities that Taylor held.”
As mentioned in the report, many would expect rookie running back Toby Gerhart would be second in the depth chart considering the second-round investment in him. It appears he won’t be handed the job.
