NFL teams are required to trim their rosters to get down to 75 players today.
Here are the moves the Minnesota Vikings made in order to meet requirements (thanks to Mike Wobschall of Vikings.com Blog):
The Vikings started Monday by placing linebacker J Leman on the waivers/injured list. Leman his since reverted to injured reserve.
On Tuesday the team waived receiver Marko Mitchell and tackle Bill Noethlich. Both players made little impact in training camp.
Finally, receiver Sidney Rice was placed on the physically unable to perform list. By being placed on the PUP list, Rice will be forced to sit out first 6 games of the season.
Missing 6 games is not that big of a deal for Rice considering he is expected be out for half of the season.
