The Minnesota Vikings inquired about San Diego Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson, according to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Last week the Seattle Seahawks were granted permission to speak to Jackson’s agents, but talks didn’t get very far.
According to the report, league and agent sources say the Vikings “immediately balked at the same $50 million, five-year contract (with $30 million guaranteed) over which Seattle stopped talks with Jackson.”
Jackson is currently having issues with his current team, as he is unhappy with his contract situation. He is believed to be committed to sitting out the whole season in order to get a long-term contract.
According to the report, besides the issue of signing Jackson to a long-term contract, the Vikings would likely have to part with more than a second-round pick, the draft pick the Seahawks were reportedly floating.
