Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre is going to to be reunited with a former teammate.
Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports the Vikings are expected to sign free-agent receiver Javon Walker sometime Monday.
The Vikings worked Walker and receiver Brandon Jones less than a week ago. Jones recently agreed to a deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
Walker, 31, played his first four seasons in Green Bay with Favre. He spent the last four seasons with the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders.
The addition of Walker will provide depth for a position plagued by injuries:
- Receiver Sidney Rice has been limited in practice during training camp and his status for the season opener is in question.
- Receiver Percy Harvin has missed a lot of camp after his grandmother passed away, followed by chronic migraine issues.
- Receiver/punt returner Jaymar Johnson was the favorite for the fifth receiver spot on the roster, but was played in the injured reserve with a broken finger suffered in the first preseason game.
