The Minnesota Timberwolves unloaded some big contracts this offseason setting themselves up to acquire more players and assets.
Fans may just have to wait a little bit for it.
According to Charley Walters, the Timberwolves plan to use their unspent salary cap space at the NBA trade deadline in February, when high-priced players become available.
“We have positioned ourselves financially so if some team wants to unload a player because of salary, we don’t have any restrictions anymore, ” Wolves owner Glen Taylor said. ”We can do now (financially) what many teams can’t. We’re not done.”
