As most Vikings fans, I was excited yet again to see our Vikings back on the field again in the third preseason bout against the Seattle Seahawks.
I think I can speak for all of my fellow Vikings fans in saying that I was also excited about seeing #4 play more than four snaps. In my opinion Favre looked pretty good throwing the ball to our new and older receivers. As not knowing a ton about Greg Camarillo, I was anxious to see what he could do and I was amazed. Every time Favre threw the ball to him he caught it; I guess the info about him not dropping a pass all last season with the Miami Dolphins was true. Camarillo had a pair of catches for 34 yards.
Aside from collapsing during practice on August 19th, Percy Harvin was looking really good. Harvin played 14 snaps. He was able to haul in two passes for 30 yards and got up fairly quickly after Seahawks rookie free safety Earl Thomas hit him pretty hard. For some reason I had no idea he was playing, not quite sure how that one went passed me.
I was also very anxious to see Favre’s former go-to guy Javon Walker in action. With all the reports of his knee’s nearly being done I was skeptical on how he would do. Walker had a slow three quarters, which at first was kind of disappointing to me considering I want him to make the 53-man roster. But with 8 minutes or so left in the 4th quarter the Vikings went for it on 4th and four with a nice throw from Sage Rosenfels to Walker for a spectacular 25-yard touchdown. If you haven’t seen it yet I suggest you go to Vikings.com to check it out; you won’t regret it.
All in all I was pleased with our Minnesota Vikings. Obviously like any team in the NFL there are always kinks and other things to work out before the start of the regular season. The Vikings are just another team working out those kinks, I believe everything will be fixed up before the start of our first game/season opener at New Orleans.
Until next time keep supporting our Minnesota Vikings.
