Minnesota Twins catcher Joe Mauer received a cortisone shot in his right shoulder following the Twins’ game with the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night.
Mauer has been dealing with tendinitis since he took a foul tip off the shoulder earlier in July. An MRI of his shoulder came back positive.
The shoulder tendinitis appears to not be serious.
Manager Ron Gardenhire says Mauer will miss Sunday and likely Monday. He says Mauer likely would have sat Sunday anyway.
