Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre was on the field when practice began around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, according to Mike Wobschall of Vikings.com Blog.
In order for Favre to return, the Vikings had to make a roster move.
It is believed the Vikings placed receiver Jaymar Johnson on the waived/injured list. The receiver broke his thumb being tackled during a punt return on Saturday, and will reportedly need surgery that will keep him out 6-8 weeks.
This doesn’t mean Johnson is necessarily done with the Vikings. Johnson will not likely make the opening day roster but could rejoin the team when he is fully healed, assuming there is a spot for him.
Considering Johnson’s strong camp, I wouldn’t count him completely out.
Update: Now there is proof Favre is practicing. Photo gallery of Favre on the practice field thanks to Vikings.com.
