The Minnesota Vikings’ depth at the receiver position is concerning considering receiver Sidney Rice has been severely limited in practice and receiver Percy Harvin is continuing to have chronic issues with his migraine problems.
The Vikings have a lot of young receivers in camp including former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher receiver Logan Payne, who is having a great camp. But young unproven receivers might not cut it for a team built to win now.
It appears now the Vikings are targeting veteran free-agent receivers to add depth to the position. According to Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee, the Vikings are looking to bring in free-agent receiver Brandon Jones Thursday evening.
Jones, 27, is visiting with the Seattle Seahawks sometime Thursday. The Oakland Raiders and Tenessee Titans are among five additional teams who have shown interest, according to the report.
Update: It appears Jones will visit with the Vikings on Friday. Also… the Vikings were interested in Jones BEFORE the Harvin incident.
