The Minnesota Timberwolves will send a 2011 second-round pick to the Miami Heat for power forward Michael Beasley, according to ESPN.com sources.
The Timberwolves will absorb Beasley’s salary. Both teams also agreed to an unspecified swap of future first-round picks.
Update: The swap of first-round picks can be pushed out to seven years, according to Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune.
The Heat originally discussed a four-team trade with Toronto, Houston and Charlotte involving Beasley, but turned to Minnesota after the trade broke down.
Miami traded Beasley to clear up enough space to re-sign Dwayne Wade, as well as sign power forward Chris Bosh and LeBron James.
