Timberwolves Interested in Tolliver?

Minnesota Timberwolves team president David Kahn said in a written statement that he traded forward/center Ryan Hollins to the Clevelend Cavaliers because the team simply didn’t have room for him.

“With the arrivals of Luke Ridnour, Michael Beasley, Nikola Pekovic and the signing of Darko Milicic, it was clear that Ramon and Ryan would have lesser roles this season if they were to remain,” Kahn said.  ”This move provides them a better opportunity in Cleveland and adds to our flexibility both this season and beyond in relation to the salary cap.”

According to Chris Tomasson of FanHouse.com, the Timberwolves are interested in free-agent forward/center Anthony Tolliver.  Huh?

So the Timberwolves trade away a young big man because they don’t have room for him but immediately target another big man after clearing that room?  Either Kahn doesn’t know what he is doing (or he’s some super mastermind that us regular fans can’t understand) or Tomasson has terrible sources.

“Timberwolves will take a hard look at possibly signing free-agent forward Anthony Tolliver.”

Sounds to me that he’s speculating and hoping it sticks?

Either way, nothing of this report makes sense.
