Gardenhire Not Worried About Mauer

Some Minnesota Twins’ fans are worried about catcher Joe Mauer’s production this season, compared to the season he has last year before he signed his massive extension.

According to Kelly Theiser of MLB.com, manager Ron Gardenhire is not concerned at all about Mauer’s power and swing.

“I wish we could just say, ‘Yeah, that’s going to get him going.’”  Gardenhire said.  ”He just has to keep going up there and keep putting the swings on them and they’ll travel.  He turned on that ball.  It came in — and maybe he was looking for a pitch in a certain spot — and he turned on it, cranked it.”
