Point guard Jonny Flynn is expected to miss 3-4 months after hip surgery next week, NBA sources told Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
According to this timetable, Flynn could miss the start of the NBA season which starts on October 26th.
Flynn missed the summer league because of injury.
Since the Timberwolves agreed to trade point guard Ramon Sessions to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the team may expect Flynn to return closer to three months.
The team technically still has point guard Sebastion Telfair under contract after Monday’s trade. Flynn’s status may force the Timberwolves to keep Telfair on the roster.
