Punto Back From DL; Hughes Heads to AAA

The Minnesota Twins announced third baseman Nick Punto will return from his 15-day DL stint in time for Saturday night’s game, with infielder Luke Hughes being sent back to AAA Rochester.

Hughes left a good impression with the Twins’ coaching staff by playing solid defense while collecting two hits in seven at-bats, including the home run in his first major league at bat.

Punto is expected to resume his role as the starting third baseman, where infielder Brendan Harris has been filling in.  Harris played well defensively, but did not do much offensively, hitting .200 so far this season.
