With the 2nd pick of the second round, the Minnesota Vikings selected cornerback Chris Cook from Virginia.
The Vikings then traded their 2nd round (62th overall) and 3rd round pick (93rd overall) to the Houston Texans to move up 11 spots and snag running back Toby Gerhart from Stanford.
According to multiple sources, the Vikings attempted to trade even earlier in the draft to select Gerhart.
According to Tom Pelissero of AM1500, the Texans got the better deal on paper because according to the NFL’s trade chart, the two picks the Vikings surrendered (62 and 93) were worth 412 points. The 51st pick they got from Houston was worth 390 points.
