The Minnesota Timberwolves took some risk by taking on center Darko Milicic’s salary for the remaining part of the year.
But will we see Darko in a Wolves’ uniform after this season?
Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports Milicic answered yes when asked if he would return to the Timberwolves next season if the team guaranteed him a starting job and 30 to 35 minutes a game.
Not exactly groundbreaking considering most players would say the same thing if they were promised a starting role after riding the bench for several teams for most of their NBA career.
Milicic also mentioned that the team would have to make off-season moves that proves things are bound to get better.
Certainly making the team better is in team president David Kahn’s plan, but promising him a starting job doesn’t seem likely. Power forward’s Al Jefferson or Kevin Love probably don’t like the idea of being the sixth-man.
