Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune reports the Minnesota Vikings received a 5th-round selection (167th overall) as a compensatory pick in next month’s draft.
The compensatory picks are awarded to teams who lose more or better compensatory free agents than they acquired the previous season. The pick was for losing center Matt Birk last year in free-agency.
Update: We originally said the pick was for the Vikings’ loss in free-agency this year. That was incorrect and we corrected the mistake above.
