The Minnesota Vikings announced they have hired Matt Sheldon as an assistant defensive backs on Monday.
Sheldon started his football career as a defensive back for the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the 1990′s before moving on to a career in coaching. He is now entering his 10th season as a coach in the NFL and is partially responsible for a Buffalo Bills’ linebacking core that was ranked #2 in the NFL in pass defense as a linebacker coach of 4 seasons.
The team hopes Sheldon can help improve the pass defense of the Vikings’ secondary.
