Vikings Currently Not Interested in Westbrook

Fans in the Minnesota Vikings’ Internet community are wondering if the team is interested in free-agent running back Brian Westbrook, especially after the Tomlinson fiasco.

According to Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune, coach Brad Childress reiterated that the Vikings currently don’t have interest in Westbrook.

Despite contradicting reports of interest in the former Philadelphia Eagle before the attempted signing of running back LaDainian Tomlinson, it appears the Vikings do not currently have interest.  Zulgad has been consistent all along and is highly regarded as a great beat writer for the Vikings.

From multiple Internet reports last month, teams appear concerned about not only his concussion history, but his ankles and of the running back practicing and playing on artificial grass.  According to a source, Westbrook still believes in his playing ability and may still be looking for a starting opportunity.

Some phone conversations with teams, as well as the popular public opinion may ultimately change his mind.
