Jim Trotter (SI.com) reports free-agent running back LaDainian Tomlinson will visit with Minnesota Vikings’ officials on Thursday, according to a league source.
This will be the first visit for Tomlinson since being cut by the San Diego Chargers. Trotter said Tomlinson recently said he has no problem sharing the backfield and believes he could be a positive mentor for a young back.
Update: Adam Schefter (ESPN Insider) via Twitter confirmed Trotter’s report. “It’s official and confirmed — a big visit Thursday for LT.” (03/09/10)

This comment appears to be the difference between Tomlinson and free-agent running back Brian Westbrook. A source tells us Westbrook still feels he can be a starter in this league and isn’t looking to sign a lower-value contract.
