Sullivan Earns $397,555 Check Through NFL Performance Program

Brad Biggs of the National Football Post uncovered a list of players who were compensated from the NFL through their performance-based pay system that is designed to help players whose playing time was extremely disproportionate to their salary.

The NFL uses a formula based on a player’s percentage of playing time and salary cap number to decide the payouts.

Biggs reports Minnesota Vikings’ center John Sullivan received the biggest check of $$397,555 from the NFL.

The fact that Sullivan received that much is not a surprise considering he took every snap at center for the Vikings this past season.  Sullivan had a base salary of $2.95 million in 2009, which is considerably low for a starting center.

Update: The Twitter account of VikingsNow for the Pioneer Press reports safety Tyrell Johnson was second on the team with $211,572.  Eleven other Vikings got six figures, but Sullivan and Johnson had the largest checks.
