The Minnesota Vikings and defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy agreed on a two-year deal with a maximum value of $6 million according to Jason La Canfora of NFL Network.
Kennedy visited with the Buffalo Bills Thursday but elected to re-sign with the Vikings. Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that Kennedy wanted an opportunity to start, but it appears he wanted the best deal possible.
Kennedy will certainly get playing time with the Vikings as they often rotate their lineman in games to keep players fresh. Kennedy often replaced defensive tackle Pat Williams in third and long situations.
With (Pat) Williams expected to retire after the upcoming season, Kennedy is slated to become a starter next to defensive tackle Kevin Williams in 2011.
