Hicks Leaves Vikings, Signs With Washington

Former Minnesota Vikings’ guard/tackle Artis Hicks agreed to a three-year deal Saturday with the Washington Redskins, according to Mike Florio (Pro Football Talk).

Judd Zulgad (Star Tribune) reports the maximum value of the deal is $9 million, according to sources.  Zulgad said he will compete for the starting right guard spot.

Hicks was reportedly in Washington all day as other free-agent offensive linemen came and went without agreeing to deals.  Zulgad and his colleague Chip Scoggins were the first to report that Hicks and the Redskins were on the verge of a deal before Florio broke the news of an agreement of a three-year deal.

It appears Zulgad and Scoggins were in contact with Hick’s agent.

Good work by the guys at Star Tribune and Pro Football Talk.

Update: Viking Update via Twitter reports Hicks gave the Vikings an opportunity to match the Redskins’ offer. (03/06/10)
