Updated: Favre ‘Heavily Involved’ In Tomlinson Recruiting Process

Minnesota Vikings’ Pat Williams wasn’t the only player involved during the recruiting process for running back LaDainian Tomlinson last week.

Bob Glauber of Newsday reports quarterback Brett Favre was “heavily involved in the recruitment process” and Favre had spoken to Tomlinson by phone.

This latest development is a possible clue that Favre may have already made up his mind on a possible return for the 2010 season.  Tomlinson did tell WCCO during his visit with the Vikings that being on a team with Favre and Peterson could be a new dream team.

“I think it’d be a blast, you know. Watching Brett for so long, you know, it’s magic. Coming here, would be incredible to be able to play with him,” Tomlinson said.

Update:  Ed Werder of ESPN reports Favre didn’t speak, but texted Tomlinson.  Werder also reports Favre told Tomlinson that he had “no clue” whether he would return to the Vikings. (03/16/10)

Update:  Glauber now reports Tomlinson confirmed that he spoke with Favre by telephone about Vikings position. (03/16/10)
