The Associated Press reports the Minnesota Vikings plan on using cornerback Antoine Winfield more on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys after putting him in a limited role in the regular season finale.
In the regular season finale, he played a lot of short-down situations and even subbed out in situations that called for a possible long passing play. Winfield was also limited to playing nickel for most of that game, and cornerback Benny Sapp would play outside at left corner.
Winfield was placed in the limited roled because of a foot injury that made him miss 6½ games, returning for the last four.
The AP article said coach Brad Childress did not elaborate on the type of role or matchups he will be playing against the Cowboys.
