Chip Scoggins (Star Tribune) said via Twitter that all Minnesota Vikings’ players are accounted for at the start of practice Thursday.
The extra week off during the Wild Card round definitely provided the Vikings an advantage for a team filled with veterans. Cornerback Antoine Winfield, tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, defensive tackle Pat Williams and guard’s Steve Hutchinson and Anthony Herrera are battling aches and injuries heading up to this week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
With their freshly rested bodies, expect the Vikings to attack the Cowboys with their running game in a attempt to ease the pass rush from Cowboys’ linebacker DeMarcus Ware. The Cowboys’ pass rush and defensive backs are arguably one of the best in the league, so the Vikings cannot depend on quarterback Brett Favre and the passing game all game long.
Update: Scoggins later posted via Twitter that fullback Fahu Tahi was added to the injury report and did not practice. Fahi has a back injury, but all signs are pointing towards him playing this Sunday. (01/14/10)
