Twins Release Keppel; Headed To Japan

The Minnesota Twins released pitcher Bobby Keppel Monday, according to the team’s official website.

Keppel will reportedly play in Japan next season.  The 27-year-old posted a 4.83 ERA over 37 appearances for the Twins in 2009.

A few months back, Keppel was linked to the Hanshin Tigers, and it appears that is the team he will be playing for in Japan.

Update:  LaVelle E. Neal III (Star Tribune) said via Twitter that Keppel has signed with the Nippon Ham Fighters of the Japanese Pacific League.  Not the Hashin Tigers…. we were wrong.
