Minnesota Timberwolves’ center/power forward Ryan Hollins has been impressive in the two games since replacing power forward Kevin Love in the starting lineup.
On Sunday night, Hollins scored 16 points on 6 for 8 shooting from the field and 4 for 6 from the free-throw line. He also blocked three shots and pulled down three rebounds.
On Friday, Hollins scored 19 points on 7 for 11 shooting from the field and 5 for 7 from the free-throw line. He again had a blocked shot and pulled down three rebounds.
Although the 7-footer is not pulling down many rebounds, he is taking efficient shots while playing good defense and making free-throws. Playing next to center/power forward Al Jefferson and Love doesn’t exactly put too much pressure on Hollins to pull down rebounds, because Jefferson and Love average double-digit rebounds every night.
Hollin’s role in the starting lineup compliments Jefferson, allowing Jefferson to be the main scorer low in the post. The same can be said when Love comes off the bench, because Love has just as much of a scoring ability as Jefferson.
