Mike Wobschall (Vikings.com Blog) reports Minnesota Vikings’ receiver Percy Harvin has been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster as a kick returner.
Philadelphia Eagles’ receiver DeSean Jackson was voted into the Pro Bowl roster as both a receiver and a kick returner, but will be on the roster as a receiver because he received more votes as a receiver. Harvin will occupy the kick returner spot on the roster, as he finished second in voting as the kick returner.
“I feel blessed to make it to the Pro Bowl,” Harvin said to Vikings.com on Monday. “It is a great honor and humbling to be recognized by the other players and coaches in the NFC. I also want to thank all the fans who voted for me. But the biggest thanks goes to my teammates. I can’t do much of anything without the ten other guys blocking, so really it’s like a special teams honor for all of us.”
Ultimately, Harvin and the Vikings don’t want to play in the Pro Bowl at all, meaning they will be getting ready for the Super Bowl instead. The addition of Harvin in the Pro Bowl bumps the total to nine Vikings voted into the Pro Bowl this year.
