8 Vikings Headed To Pro Bowl

Eight Minnesota Vikings’ players are headed to the Pro Bowl this year, and five of them are voted as starters for the NFC team.

We already reported that left tackle Bryant McKinnie was voted as a starter for the NFC team.  Joining McKinnie as starters will be running back Adrian Peterson, left guard Steve Hutchinson, defensive end Jared Allen and defensive tackle Kevin Williams.

Quarterback Brett Favre, receiver Sidney Rice and special teamer/linebacker Heath Farwell will join the NFC team as reserves.  Rice, McKinnie and Farwell are first-time Pro Bowl selections.

This is Favre’s 11th Pro Bowl selection.  Hutchinson has made it for seven straight years.   Kevin Williams has been selected for five of the past six seasons.

The Vikings lead the NFL in Pro Bowl selections with their eight.  The Indianapolis Colts, Philidelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have the second most selections with six for each team.
