Update: Various reports say Childress agreed to a deal that will have him under contract through the 2013 season. He will earn $4 to $5 million annually.
New Contract For Childress Soon?
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com) reports Minnesota Vikings’ coach Brad Childress is nearing a new contract extension that could at least double his current salary.
Sources to the Vikings told Judge that a contract extension is “soon” expected, and that an announcement could come soon.
Judge had already posted a similar report a month ago, and this report is just as vague as his earlier report. He had reported that Childress has an extension in the works and a new deal would be possible within the next two to three weeks.
It has been well past three weeks.
Judd Zulgad (StarTribune) said the news of a pending contract extension was “news” to Childress.
