Winfield Has Sprained Foot; Might Play Next Week

Mike Wobschall (Vikings.com Blog) reports Minnesota Vikings’ cornerback Antoine Winfield’s injury is a sprained foot, and not the rumored turf toe which could have potentially ended his season.

Winfield will spend the first part of the week getting treatment for his foot, and could begin practice depending on how his treatment and foot progresses.  Coach Brad Childress has not ruled out Winfield for next week’s game.

When asked about the timetable of his return, Childress was uncertain.  “People heal so differently, it’s hard to know,” Childress said.
