Former Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback John David Booty has been added to the Tennessee Titans’ practice squad, one day after working out with the Houston Texans.
Titans’ ownership have been calling for the benching of quarterback Kerry Collins and for the team to start quarterback Vince Young. Collins has been struggling this year and the Titans’ options are limited if Young fails to deliver.
Booty gives the Titans a young quarterback that has a fairly decent upside and future potential. With Collins likely heading out by the end of the season, Booty could bring some competition to the starting position.
It is unlikely that Booty will see time on the field for the Titans this season, but next season could give him a legitimate chance to play or at least make the team.
