Wade Restructures Contract

Judd Zulgad (Star Tribune) reports Minnesota Vikings’ receiver Bobby Wade and the team agreed to restructure his contract. Wade is now expected to earn $1.5 million in 2009, rather than his scheduled salary of $3 million.

The restructured deal will also void the remaining portion of his original contract following this season, and will become a free-agent.

With a newer limited role this season, Wade was subject to rumors and speculation of a possible roster cut. With the restructuring of his deal, his spot on the team is likely safe, although his role is still in question.

Wade is a solid insurance player for receiver’s Bernard Berrian, Sidney Rice and Percy Harvin, all of which has had history of injury problems.
