McClinton Headed To Minnesota

Former 51st pick out of June, shooting guard Jack McClinton will be joining the Minnesota Timberwolves and pending a physical this morning will be part of the Timberwolves’ veteran camp.  McClinton recently asked to be released by the San Antonio Spurs after a miserable display at Summer League.

According to our league source, an announcement is expected as early as today.  McClinton is already in Minnesota and the announcement will happen if/when he passes his physical.

McClinton, 24, was drafted out of the University of Miami, where he played three seasons and last averaged 19.3 points as a junior.

On the night of the draft, Chad Ford (ESPN.com) said of McClinton, “He’s an Eddie House clone. He can shoot the lights out and plays with a lot of energy.”
