Jackson To Be Brett’s Backup, Play In Wildcat?

Sean Jensen (Pioneer Press) reports Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Tarvaris Jackson is expected to backup starting quarterback Brett Favre in the season opener in Cleveland, citing a person with knowledge of the situation.

The backup position to Favre is expected to alternate throughout the season, depending on how Jackson and quarterback Sage Rosenfels do in practice leading up to the week’s game.

Now that Jackson will likely will be the No. 2 QB on Sunday, could it mean he’s an option for the Wildcat with receiver Percy Harvin lined up at quarterback?  Jackson is a younger and more athletic player than Favre who can pose a legit threat lined on the outside.
