Wolves Finalize Signing Of Hollins

The Minnesota Timberwolves officially inked center Ryan Hollins to a three-year contract for $7 million.  The Timberwolves signed Hollins to a offer sheet on Aug. 3, leaving the Mavericks seven days to match Minnesota’s offered.

The Mavericks immediately announced following the offer that they would not match the offer, meaning this official signing has been expected.

Hollins is expected to get regular playing time in a rotation with power forwards/centers Al Jefferson and Kevin Love.  Jefferson is coming back from a major knee injury, so the signing also brings security to the front-line.

The 24 year-old 7-foot center is considered an athletic big man with a lot of potential.  He has the ability to stabilize the center position and become a defensive presence when Jefferson is not on the floor.

Hollins was originally drafted by the Bobcats in the second round in 2006 and was traded to the Mavericks in January.
