Vikings Unofficial Depth Chart For Aug 11.

Sean Jensen (Pioneer Press) took a look at the training camp depth chart, dated for August 11th.  He mentioned little surprises, but added a few things worth noting.

Here is a heavily quoted portion of his blog post:

* Bernard Berrian and Sidney Rice are listed as the starting receivers. Rookie Percy Harvin is listed third-team, behind Rice and Bobby Wade.

* Rookie Phil Loadholt is listed as the starting right tackle, and veteran Ryan Cook is his backup. Cook is also the third-string center, behind starter John Sullivan and rookie Jon Cooper.

* At middle linebacker, David Herron is listed as E.J. Henderson’s backup. Meanwhile, rookie Jasper Brinkley is third-string.

* After starters Antoine Winfield and Cedric Griffin, Benny Sapp and Marcus McCauley are listed as the backups. Karl Paymah and rookie Asher Allen are third-string.

* Interestingly, rookie safety Jamarca Sanford is listed as Tyrell Johnson’s backup. Veteran Eric Frampton is behind them.

* Percy Harvin is listed as the kickoff returner, and Jaymar Johnson as the punt returner. Those two players are listed as each other’s backups, respectively. Darius Reynaud is the third-string kickoff returner, and Bernard Berrian is third-string punt returner.

* Funny. Under quarterback, it says Tarvaris Jackson or Sage Rosenfels.
