Here are some notes I’ve gathered thus far for Minnesota Vikings’ Training Camp 2009:
- Receiver Percy Harvin had a very good ‘first’ training camp. He was used at returning kicks as well as the slot position with the first-team offense.
- Tackle Ryan Cook got some snaps at center, the position he played in college. Childress plans on using him at all positions on the line. (primary back-up?)
- Quarterback Tarvaris Jackson did not participate today, but might return to the field tomorrow. He has a sprained MCL on his left knee. He is currently wearing a knee brace.
- Quarterback John David Booty is getting more reps with Jackson sitting out today’s sessions. Quarterback Sage Rosenfels got most of the opportunities with the first team offense.
- Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe looks really good. He is ready for an even better year than last year’s career season.
- Linebackers’ Heath Farwell and EJ Henderson are moving around the field very well. They look to be at or close to 100% ready to play.
