Mike Florio (Pro Football Talk) reports receiver Percy Harvin has agreed to terms with the Minnesota Vikings. The contract is believed to be a five-year deal, but the contract value is unknown.
Florio cites a league source in his article. The Associated Press confirms the signing.
We expected the Vikings to give the receiver a lucrative contract that pays him well as long as he stays out of trouble. Two weeks ago, we predicted that he would sign a deal for five-years, $14.5 million with $7 million guaranteed as the 22nd overall pick.
If our prediction is correct, Harvin would indeed have a contract that would pay him well as long as he can stay on the roster. This years’ 23rd pick, tackle Michael Oher signed a five-year deal worth $13 million.
Edit: (8/3) Harvin’s contract is worth $14.2 million with $8.5 million guaranteed. I’d say our prediction was close.
According to Mike Wobschall (Vikings.com Blog), Harvin is scheduled to arrive at training camp in time for today’s 3:00 practice. The Vikings now have 11 receivers in camp.
