Vikings Waive Bell

The Minnesota Vikings have waived running back Kahlil Bell, according to the team’s website. Bell was a rookie free agent from UCLA, but missed most of training camp because of an ankle sprain.

With the solid production from reserve running back’s Ian Johnson and Albert Young in the preseason opener, Bell would have stiff competition even if he were healthy.

Free-agent tight end Jake Nordin will take Bell’s roster spot. Nordin, 25, provides an extra body for the roster, but the Minnesota native is not expected to make the team.
