Sean Jenson (Pioneer Press) reports the National Football League has disapproved the contract of Minnesota Vikings’ receiver Percy Harvin. Per Jenson, this will not keep Harvin off the field.
The reason the contract was disapproved is currently unknown, but Harvin’s agent and the team will have a time period to resolve the matter and revise the language of the deal. Typically, violations are related to the structure of the money, or language that violates the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Harvin signed a five-year deal worth $14.28 million with a bonus of $8.5 million. Bonuses in the contract can earn him even more money, for a total value of $14.5 million.
Expect the deal to be revised to re-submitted to the NFL within the next few days.
