Brett Has A Cracked Rib?

Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Brett Favre told ESPN that he may have cracked his rib last week against the Kansas City Chiefs.  No official diagnosis has been done, but he says taking a deep breath causes discomfort.

Favre’s injury is not listed on the team’s official injury report and no Vikings’ official has publicly mentioned the injury — yet.

The 39-year-old quarterback is still scheduled to play at least the first half of tonight’s game, and will not wear any type of special padding, saying “the damage is done.”

I’m not a medical expert by all means, but my understanding it that cracked ribs only need time for it to heal.  No harnesses or casts are required, but players commonly wear extra padding when dealt with similar injuries.
