Bonser May Return In September

Rustin Dodd (MLB.com) reports pitcher Boof Bonser is rehabbing well and may join the Minnesota Twins by as early as September.  The team did not expect Bonser to return at all this season, but his return will at least give the Twins an extra option in September.

Bonser had struggled the past couple years in the starting rotation, but had played better in a relief role towards the end of last season.  The addition of Bonser allows the Twins to add an arm to the bullpen or possibly insert into the rotation, depending on how their staff holds up going into September.

In the meantime, pitcher Francisco Liriano could be out longer than 15 days.  Liriano was placed on the 15-day DL for arm fatigue following a dreadful outing against the Texas Rangers.
