Mike Florio (Pro Football Talk) reports the Minnesota Vikings announced the release of cornerback Charles Gordon. The release coincidentally opens a roster spot, meaning the Vikings can sign available player (even a 39-year-old quarterback).
The move has been confirmed by Vikings.com.
As Florio pointed out, Gordon is the cornerback who had the devastating injury during the 2008 season. If you really want to watch it again, you can click here. Gordon had signed a one-year deal with the Vikings this February.
With the drafting of cornerback Asher Allen and the free-agent signing of cornerback Karl Paymah, Gordon is already buried deep into the depth chart. He was not expected to be among the group to battle it out for the nickel or even dime positions anyway.
