Former Minnesota Timberwolf (now LA Clipper) power forward Mark Madsen said on his Twitter that LA Lakers’ assistant Kurt Rambis is a serious candidate for the Timberwolves’ head coaching position.
A message sent to Madsen asking for more clarification has not been replied yet.
On Madsen’s Twitter (madsen_mark), he said: “Kurt Rambis (played for him at Lakers) is a serious candidate for the Timberwolves Head coaching job…Kurt would stress defense.rebounding“.
Rambis is widely mentioned as being the next head coach for the Lakers, when current head coach Phil Jackson ultimately decides to retire. Rambis’s last stint at head coaching was the 1998-1999 season, when Del Harris was fired from the Lakers. Rambis finished the season with a 24-13 record, but Jackson was hired the following year. He immediately became the team’s GM and later became an assistant — the position he currently holds.
