Adrian Peterson may have possibly hinted the idea that the Vikings are at least experimenting with the Wildcat formation. The Wildcat formation was introduced last year by the Miami Dolphins, and widely known for confusing and destroying Bill Belichick’s New England defense .
A quote from the ESPN article: “We picked up (Florida speedster) Percy Harvin, so we’re going to be running a lot of different scat formations … maybe Wildcat,” Peterson said, referring to the Dolphins’ use of the direct snap to a running back. “We might just throw that in there some. So, you guys just might see me on Sundays throwing the ball, too.”
Especially with the addition of a dynamic Percy Harvin, the Vikings would be crazy not to experiment with the formation. Tarvaris Jackson and Chester Taylor should also be considered viable candidates for the Wildcat.
