Bill Ingram (Hoops World) is reporting longtime NBA coach, Del Harris wants to coach the Minnesota Timberwolves. The website reports they had spoken to a source close to Harris. This is a bit surprising since he recently retired from the coaching ranks a couple of weeks ago. Ingram is reporting Harris wants back in the league, and is intrigued by a young squad that can use leadership from a veteran coach.
Hoops World: “he would like nothing better than to take on the challenge of an exciting young team like the Timberwolves, and the Timberwolves would do well to hear what Harris has to say before they commit their foreseeable future to an inexperienced coach.”
I’m not sure if Harris would be considered as a legitimate candidate or not, but this report is interesting nonetheless. Wolves President David Kahn anticipates interviewing multiple candidates through the month of July, and expects a hiring near or soon after August 1st.
