Timberwolves point guard Bobby Brown will exercise his player option, which will guarantee a contract for the 2009-10 season.
Brown will likely get some playing time, with veteran guards Randy Foye and Mike Miller being traded away before the draft. The status of Ricky Rubio is also in question, and may not play this upcoming season. The Wolves expect to have at least Brown, Jonny Flynn, and Sebastian Telfair at point guard on the roster for this year.
Brown, 24, signed as a free agent by Sacramento after not being taken in the 2008 NBA Draft, was sent to the Timberwolves with forward/center Shelden Williams for Calvin Booth and Rashad McCants in February. Williams and Booth are not expected to return to the Wolves this upcoming season.
